Hotico
Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 4, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how the Hotico application ("the App") handles user information.
What data we collect
None. Hotico does not collect, store or transmit any personal data. The app runs completely offline and does not require registration, sign-in or an internet connection.
Use of Accessibility and Input Monitoring
Hotico uses two macOS system permissions to operate:

1. Accessibility — allows the app to register keyboard events at the system level and display them as an overlay on top of other windows.
2. Input Monitoring — required for the app to "see" key presses.

Important to understand:

- Hotico does NOT record what you type (passwords, messages, documents)
- Only the keys you explicitly enabled in Settings are processed
- No keystrokes are saved to disk
- No keystroke data is transmitted to the internet
- Keystrokes are used only for instant overlay display and are immediately discarded
Local data storage
User settings (selected key classes, font, color, overlay position, etc.) are stored locally on your device using the standard macOS storage (UserDefaults).

This data:

- is not transmitted to our servers
- is not shared with third parties
- is accessible only to you
- is removed when you uninstall the app
Analytics and tracking
The app does not use any third-party analytics, advertising SDKs or tracking systems. Apple may collect anonymized installation statistics through the App Store, which is not under the developer's control.
Children
The app is not specifically designed for children under 13, but it is safe for users of any age, as it does not collect any data.
Changes to this Privacy Policy
If this Privacy Policy is updated, the new version will be published on this page with a new effective date.
